Hello!
We were tagged into a video on twitter (credit to Neil Mackinnon), showing the congestion in Bridgend and how efficient it was for him to cycle passed.....83 cars! 83 cars in under two minutes. People are asking why we are looking to install cycle lanes - this is the reason why. You can move 83 people a lot quicker by bike than car.
We are not looking for everyone to cycle, everywhere, everyday. What we are saying is that to overcome the congestion (which is already there), we need to provide alternative modes of transport. Freeing up space on the carriageway would also make it more efficient for the bus which was stuck in the queue of traffic.
